Repairing the Slumping Bank

Well what a team we had on Saturday 22nd March. Well done and thank you all for the huge effort.

The sleepers that support the pavers and create the ditch at the end of the green had started to fail and we needed a team of people prepared to lift paving slabs, dig out the soil behind the sleepers so they could be repositioned and secured with concrete. We also needed some one to measure and cut the Astro turf to cover the sleepers once the structure had been rebuilt. So, the plea went out to our members and what a super response we had.

A very muddy start digging out soil onto the paving, trying to avoid damage to the green and not fall down a hole. Discussion, team work, measuring, measuring again, cutting.

The final result looks fab.
